Artist Bio:

    Raini Evergarden is an emerging artist pursuing her BFA at Murray State University, studying printmaking and poetry. Printmaking and poetry are laborious but delicate art forms; she finds this way of creating to be an accurate conduit for finding the truth she sees in the world.

    Challenging oppressive labor systems in America, her work delicately unravels the twisted nature of everyday life to reveal a tender, painful truth. She combines soft flesh tones with stark blacks, gross textures with sweet animals, and surreal imagery to create an honest, vulnerable reflection of America. Growing up in rural Southern Illinois, she is fascinated by the abandoned, the overworked, and the tortured beauty of America.
